The
following instructions will assist you in configuring your e-mail client to
process the messages flagged by the Webfodder SPAM filter. The instructions
below apply to Microsoft Outlook. Note: If you see a reference to a menu
item, such as "File > Accounts...", but you don't see that item on the menu,
look for the following symbol at the bottom of the menu:
Clicking on this will open the menu completely so that all items are visible.
Follow the instructions below to configure Outlook:
1. Open Outlook and Select "View > Folder List" from the main menu. This will
show you all of the folders you have in Outlook.

2. You should now see all of your folders listed on the left. Right-click on
"Outlook Today" and select "New Folder" from the menu.

3. When the new folder window appears, enter the name of your new SPAM folder
("SPAM" in these instructions"). Make sure "Mail Items" is specified, and make
sure "Personal Folders" is selected. Click "OK".

4. You will then be prompted to add a link to your new SPAM folder to your
Outlook Bar. Answer this as you see fit - it does not affect how the filter
works.
5. Select "Tools > Rules Wizard..." from the main menu. Note: If you receive
an error message when you select this you most likely need to install the Rules
Wizard from your original Office installation CD. Once the wizard has been
installed you can proceed from this point.

6. You will now create a new rule for handling suspected SPAM messages. Click
"New...".
7. Select "Check messages when they arrive" and click "Next >".

8. Scroll down to check the box next to "with specific words in the subject".
Then click the link on "specific words".

9. Enter "SPAM-" in the "Add new" box. Do not enter the quotes, but otherwise
enter it exactly as listed. Click "Add".

10. Your entry should now look like the illustration below. Click "OK",
then click "Next >".

11. Scroll down to check the box next to "move it to the specified folder".
Then click the link on "specified".

12. Select your newly created "SPAM" folder and click "OK".

13. Scroll down to check the box next to "stop processing more rules", then
click "Finish".

14. If you have additional rules, select your new SPAM rule and click "Move
Up" until it is the first filter in the list.
15. Click "OK" and you're done! Messages that are suspected to be SPAM will
now be placed in the SPAM folder automatically. You can review these message
periodically before deleting them to make sure no valid messages are discarded.
